I've reviewed all the older reviews & one point I want to make is that the manager with the cowboy hat is no longer here. He has been replaced with two of the nicest people I know-Jeff & Sandy. Just this last year the owner has done some major upgrades to the park including widening the access roads and replacing asphalt pads up against the lake with concrete (32 this year & more coming next year). Grounds are very well maintained and the year-round people take "pride of ownership" as if they owned their own spaces. (I know-cause I became one of them this year-after a years' wait). Park is installing their own high speed Wi-Fi system and it will be FREE beginning about 8/20/08. A new shopping mall with a new Safeway Store is going in directly across the highway from the park (easy walking distance for most people).
VERY quiet and peaceful. No freeway, trains or planes. Convenient to most shopping and airport. Grounds are well maintained. Spaces are wide and long. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Welcome relief after spending 4 months at the "plush" Buckhorn Lake Resort. Unlike Buckhorn this park has a very extensive Cable channel network. Sites were a bit muddy and standing water in the one I was in, after Ice storm hit this area. I would return here in a heartbeat. Staff very friendly & helpful. They sell gasoline, diesel & propane at very reasonable prices with a well stocked store on site.
Came in as Passport America. This park is SO QUIET (well managed). I would even stay here as a NON-PA after my 4 day max. was exceeded. $30/day with 50amp electric or $178.50 weekly. Only 1/2 mile from highway but the animal life and scenery at park is spectacular. Great Satellite TV & Satellite Internet too. High speed Internet available in laundry room
Found the park to be VERY quiet till the highway construction workers started working at 7AM. Highway noise was negligible and my RV site was alongside the southbound On-ramp to I-15. Others have rated this park and I almost didn't stay because people complained of highway noise. I have excellent hearing (not deaf). Will definitely stay here again.
Rates are whatever you want to negotiate. They claim to offer Escapees discount, but don't know who or what they are. Claim to be Passport America, but rates are no where near what directory says (they are much higher than all of the Camping Directories. This is okay for a one-night stand, but would never stay here again. Sites are level on large gravel. Park is POORLY maintained. Park is within 3 miles to the entrance to Dinosaur National Park. Lots of extended stay units (probably oil/gas field workers). No shade trees.
Except for a few trains, very quiet park. Lots of very tall shade trees making Satellite & Internet very difficult. Recommend spaces 115 thru 121 if Satellite is required. 37 Cable channels included with site rental. A lot of extended stay rigs here. Park was created in 1959 but well maintained and very scenic. Have stayed here before and will return again.
This park has it all. They have cabins from $40-65/night. Fantastic full service cafe on-site. They offer Good Sam 10% discount and Escapees 15% discount year round. Sites are well established on gravel and can accommodate any size rig. They have extended stay sites. Almost all sites have clear view for either TV or Internet Satellite service. Lots of activities in the area.
Extremely quiet! No traffic noise (1/2 mile from lightly used highway. Majestic scenery, 14,000 foot mountains 3-5 miles away. Campground sits at 8,100 feet elevation. Very short season May 10-Sept 10 open. All sites have excellent access for Satellite TV and Internet.
